Volcano Community Action Network (V-Can)
Our V-CAN group organized after Trump became President in 2016. We initiated an outreach program where a range of elected officials and community leaders were invited as speakers to educate us about local and state politics and key issues of the times. We researched candidates for the US House and Senate on the state and national level whose values we supported, and in 2020 began writing Blue Wave letters and postcards to registered voters in battleground states to get out the vote.
We continue that effort and joined the 2022 midterm effort to focus on registering young people to vote, which we are committed to continuing into the future.

Write postcards to Democrats in swing states to get people to the polls! Contact us to join our effort. This is an “All Hands on Deck” crisis for our country. You can do your part to defeat Trump, MAGA Republicans and Project 2025. Don’t sit this one out.
Campaign to STOP TRUMP!
Donald Trump has told us exactly what he plans for LGBTQ people if he is elected in November in his campaign rallies: “On day one, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content onto our children.” In Project 2025, the Republican manual for his first 180 days in office, the plan is to reinstate a transgender military ban, limit LGBTQ workplace discrimination protections, rescind healthcare protections for transgender people, and urge Congress to define gender as male and female, fixed at birth.
